Could you pass the citizenship test?

Fourth of July is upon us, and our nation patriotism is still at an all time high. Despite the economy woes and gas price hikes, you would be hard pressed to drive down the street without seeing at least half the houses decked out in American flags with the red, white and blue blowing in the breeze. As we all prepare to let our pride for our country be on full display, I want to pose an interesting question…Could you pass the latest citizenship test? Now while most Americans will balk and say “Of course I can; I am an American!” I suggest you put your money where your mouth is.

As of October 2008, a new version of the U.S. citizenship test will be taken by all applicants. The questions are usually selected from a list of 100 samples that prospective citizens can look at ahead of the interview. Some are easy, some are not. The sampling here is some of the more difficult ones.

Note that candidates are not given multiple choices in the naturalization interview. 80% is considered passing.
